Committees
Participating on a committee is an excellent way to meet new people, increase awareness of your business, and help the Chamber help its member businesses. We need you—sign up now!
 
Meets with the Economic Development Office and the City Council to work jointly on matters involving our business members. Provides access to resources and educates members on business-related topics via Constant Contact, Facebook Live, WSMI, press releases, etc., and hosts at least two educational events per year. Involved in the process of Litchfield elections (planning the Political Forum), empowering citizens to consider running for these positions. Plans and hosts two workshops that can be decided based on member needs.
Responsible for all member and public outreach, including managing the website; placing ads in the two local newspapers, The Buzz, and other printed media; creating and sending informational blasts through Constant Contact and social media; designing advertising materials for events, etc.; coordinating with local printers, videographers, etc., to produce marketing materials; scheduling interviews with WSMI regarding Chamber events and updates; and other related tasks.
Responsible for reaching out to members via telephone, email, mail, or in person, stressing relationships that benefit our members and our Chamber. Events and activities will include Business After Hours events, open houses, grand openings, Small Business Saturday, a membership drive, etc. Will “hear their pain points or successes” and encourage members to write a blog for the newsletter, website, etc., as a spotlight on their business. Will be responsible for recommending new members of the Chamber of Commerce. Updates and maintains member database.
Events Committee & Task Forces
Finds ways to raise additional revenue for the Chamber and at the same time provides benefits to the membership. Reviews existing events and finds ways to make them fresh and exciting. Plans and oversees Business After Hours events, grand openings and re-openings, anniversaries, special promotions, etc. Is comprised of these Task Forces:
 
Awards are given to a Citizen of the Year, Rising Star, and Businessperson of the Year, and to a Special Recognition Recipient. Secures sponsors, venue, caterer, invitations, decorations, awards, etc., ensuring the execution of the entire event while focusing on revenues for the Chamber.
Promotes businesses and raises funds through sponsorships and maximizes the number of golfers playing.
Plans and oversees production of pageant.
Plans and oversees 5K run.
Plans and oversees Small Business Saturday events.
